3D2U.com Adds 3D Virtual Store |
| 3D2U.com is
creating a 3D shopping mall complete with 3D stores. The first 3D store,
Carousel Expressions can now be accessed through the mall. Shoppers can
enter the store to pick out merchandise on the store shelves and select
individual items they want to see in 3D.
The entire 3D2U.com site is an outdoor shopping mall offered in a 3D environment. The Virtual Galleria is made up of five 5-story buildings accessible by an elevator or the simple click of a mouse. Within the mall, shoppers are provided with links to over 400 stores in 25 different categories ranging from entertainment to fashion and specialty items. 3D2U.com recently offered its mall affiliates the opportunity to take advantage of 3D technology to showcase their products in the Virtual Galleria mall. Upon opening the store's doors in the mall, shoppers are transported to a virtual view of the inside of the store. Utilizing Apple's Quick Time VR browser, shoppers are given the ability to zoom in and view products from all sides.
