unveiled its enhanced "My Kid's Store," a personalized store
that was created based on the individual education needs of a specific
child. Utilizing extensive customer feedback, the new store features a
redesigned interface and improved search capabilities for more
personalized product recommendations.
"'My Kid's Store' allows parents to purchase educational toys
that are specifically recommended for their child, offering a level of
personalization that is only available via the Internet," said Lisa
Tanzer, SmarterKids.com vice president of product management. "'My
Kid's Store' is currently extremely popular with our customer base and
we have more than 188,000 kids registered. With these enhancements, we
look forward to its continued growth and popularity."
The New "My Kid's Store" offers the following features:
- Enhanced search capabilities for even more personalized
product recommendations: SmarterKids.com's SmartPicks
technology, is designed to search the entire site to find the
products that best match a child's learning style and goals. SmartPicks
search algorithms have been enhanced to include the gender of the
child, up to three interests for each child, and parents now control
the product challenge level.
- Control of the product challenge level:When parents select
the educational goals for their child, they can define a challenge
level as well. Parents can increase or decrease the challenge level
of SmarterKids.com's product recommendations by adjusting their
child's grade up or down in six month increments.
- Personalized activities and content: In addition to
personalized product recommendations, now consumers will find
age-appropriate articles, activities, educational advice, and
information about what their child will be learning in school in the
coming year. If parents set a learning goal for their child,
SmarterKids.com will search the site for activities that best match
that goal.
- In-depth registration for gifted or special needs children:
If a child is gifted or has a special need, simply input the
information during the registration process and SmarterKids.com will
include customized content and a direct link to our Gifted &
Talented or Special Needs Specialty Centers in your child's "My
Kid's Store."
