| Kewill Systems plc (London: “KWL”),
a provider of business-to-business electronic commerce supply-chain
management solutions, announced that it has expanded the technology
licensing (OEM) agreement first announced in September 1999 with FedEx.
Under the terms of the new agreement, FedEx will use Kewill’s
browser-based shipping technology, Kewill.Ship, to power its
enterprise-wide FedEx Ship Manager Server. In addition, Kewill has
acquired the right to provide add-on Kewill.Ship modules for FedEx
customers requiring additional carrier processing capability.
Kewill.Ship is part of the Kewill.Net suite of e-fulfillment solutions.
”The reliable and time-definite delivery of goods is a key success
factor in the fulfilment end of any supply chain,” commented Henry J.
Maier, vice president of customer automation marketing for FedEx. “Using
Kewill’s technology, FedEx can better meet the needs of customers who
require accurate shipment information that can be more easily shared
across their enterprise and with trading partners.”
Commenting on the agreement, Geoffrey Finlay, Chief Executive of
Kewill Systems plc said: “Kewill is delighted that FedEx has extended
the current OEM relationship and will use our Kewill.Ship technology to
power enterprise shipping systems. FedEx is an innovative technology
user and their adoption of Kewill.Ship technology adds significant
momentum to our Kewill.Net strategy.”
