MessageMedia Partners with Veripost to Offer E-mail Change of Address Services

MessageMedia, Inc. (Nasdaq: MESG), a worldwide leader in permission-based, e-mail marketing and messaging solutions, has announced a partnership with Veripost, a leading provider of e-mail change of address services.

Under its partnership agreement with Veripost, MessageMedia will provide permission-based solutions for updating changed e-mail addresses for its customers. The service will allow clients to retain contact with current customers that would normally be lost when e-mail addresses are changed. Veripost estimates that more than 25 percent of e-mail addresses change each year.

Larry Jones, president and chief executive officer, said, "We are pleased to partner with Veripost, whose services offer a unique retention tool that allows our clients to foster stronger customer relationships. This new offering augments MessageMedia's leading-edge services and strengthens our competitive standing in the e-mail marketing industry."

"Consumer attrition due to changed e-mail addresses is staggering and can have a substantial impact on marketing effectiveness," said Eric Kirby, Veripost's president and CEO. "Our service enables MessageMedia's extensive client base to achieve significantly higher retention rates, and at the same time, provide consumers with a secure method to stay in touch with their online relationships."

The Veripost System Veripost provides a permission-based system for updating changed e-mail addresses. When consumers change e-mail addresses, they can register their old and new addresses at www.veripost.net, or through participating companies' websites, at no cost. Upon verification of the change, the new address is accessible by contacts in search of the new address. When an inactive e-mail is discovered by businesses or personal contacts, Veripost will provide a new address, or a request will be submitted via e-mail for consumer approval. At the time of registration, each consumer chooses a preferred level of permission that determines how updates are handled.
