| FairMarket (Nasdaq: FAIM), an excess inventory solutions provider
for businesses, and eValueville.com,
a turnkey distribution channel for large retail companies to sell excess
merchandise on eBay, announced today that eValueville has reached a new
level of sales volume since employing FairMarket's MarketSelect solution
as its infrastructure to sell large quantities of goods on eBay. Since
eValueville began working with FairMarket, the seller of quality brand
name goods has posted 50 percent more listings per day on the world's
largest liquid marketplace.
eValueville was started in 1997 as a way for retailers to sell their
goods on eBay and is quickly emerging as one of the premier sellers on
eBay, currently exceeding 1,000 listings per day. This high volume,
achieved through MarketSelect, has earned eValueville the "shooting
star" seller status, placing them among an elite group of eBay
sellers with a greater than 10,000 feedback rating.
"The success that we have had in the short time we have been
working with MarketSelect has been fantastic," said Andrew Waites,
president, eValueville. "MarketSelect integrated easily and
seamlessly with our existing infrastructure enabling us to streamline
our business process and help to scale our efforts. This is essential as
we continue to sell higher volume in our existing categories, add new
categories and expand overseas."
eValueville has historically focused on selling women's apparel and
has recently expanded by adding shoes to the offering. eValueville
intends to continue to move into other soft-goods categories and to
expand internationally later this year. eValueville works with major
retailers to help them recover the highest possible margin on their
excess and clearance product, by selling direct to consumers on eBay.
FairMarket's MarketSelect is a selling tool that enables merchants
and manufacturers to easily sell large quantities on eBay. Leveraging
eBay's APIs, this solution provides a seamless way for merchants with or
without their own site to list their items on the eBay site through
FairMarket. MarketSelect fully integrates with eValueville's proprietary
inventory and fulfillment systems to further automate the selling
process. In addition, FairMarket provides enhanced functionality, data
management and a professional services organization that is focused on
the eValueville brand.
"We see eValueville as a company with tremendous growth
potential both as a premier seller on eBay and as a significant
liquidation partner for retailers," said Mark Sutton, director of
marketing at FairMarket. "We look forward to helping eValueville
continue to grow as they expand into new categories and overseas."
eValueville's movement into a new realm is marked by several
milestones including a new Web site with improved design, search and
merchandising capabilities as well as a more stable platform for better
performance and growth management. The company also sees growth within
the apparel industry and has its future sights set on international
expansion beginning with the United Kingdom.
"We are impressed with eValueville's increased activity since
they began working with FairMarket," said Jeff Housenbold, vice
president of eBay. "The integration and automation provided by
FairMarket's MarketSelect service are helping merchants like eValueville
expand their presence in eBay's global marketplace of 37 million
users."
FairMarket's customers include Dell, CompUSA, SAM'S CLUB and Zales.
